A winter storm watch is in effect for Pine County from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches are possible, with wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
Motorists should expect slippery road conditions during Thursday’s commutes. Snow could fall at rates of around one inch an hour.
A special weather statement is also in effect for Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Isanti, and Chisago counties through 3 p.m.
The National Weather Service says confidence remains low for where the heaviest band of snow will develop.
