wcmpnews

A fugitive from Willow River was arrested near McGrath in rural Aitkin County on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

According to a news release from the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, Lyn Jacobson barricaded himself in a cabin for over an hour while law enforcement tried to get him to surrender.

Jacobson was wanted out of Pine County for first-degree sexual conduct, receiving stolen property, and ineligible possession of a firearm.

The release states that the arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between the Pine, Aitkin, and Chisago County sheriff’s offices, U.S. Marshals, and East Central Drug and Violent Offenders Task Force.

The investigation into Jacobson had been ongoing since he fled his probation officers’ office in November of 2024.
