The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the first matches of the season for her squad!
We are back at it again for the 2024 girls tennis season. We went to St. James for our first quad of the season to play St. James, St. Peter, and Blue Earth Area. The girls feel short in the first match with St. Peter, 1-6. After a two hour rain delay, we moved the match indoors to Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. They finished the day by grinding out a 4-3 win over Blue Earth and a 4-3 win over St. James.
I am so proud of the girls as they got stronger with each match. They are having fun and continue to learn from each other. We are a young team with only four returning varsity players, but they are providing a great example of hard work and the team is stepping up. It is so exciting to see them improve each time we are on the court. It is also so great to see them having so much fun while doing it. It was a great day for our team as we tried different line ups for each match. The girls stepped up in whatever capacity they were asked to play and did a great job at different positions.
We host a home quad on Monday at 8AM. We will host Litchfield, Mounds Park Academy, and Bemidji.
