The Siren Police Department is investigating a fatal crash in the village on Friday morning.
According to a news release, dispatch was notified that a white pickup truck went through the wall of the Lilac Grove apartment building, located at 24145 1st Ave., at about 11:15 a.m.
The responding officer observed that the truck had breached the building’s south wall into a single apartment. Fire and EMS were then requested for extrication and evaluation.
A lone occupant of the apartment was found deceased.
The driver of the truck was taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing. No names have been released.
The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office, Siren Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance, and Burnett County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted in the case.
