John Quitter, the man convicted of killing Colton J. Abbott during an altercation in 2022, has been sentenced to 391 months in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, Quitter shot and killed Abbott during an altercation near Hinckley. Quitter then reportedly took the victim to Essentia Health Sandstone, where he later died of his injuries.
On April 26, Quitter was convicted on three counts of second-degree murder and one count of fleeing a peace officer.
Prior to the trial, Quitter had pled guilty to one count of possessing a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence.
He was sentenced on June 13.
