The Pine County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal Pine City structure fire on Sunday night.
According to a news release, deputies responded to a report of a structure fire in the 25000 block of Blackberry Road just before 11 p.m.
Deputies found the residence actively engulfed in flames upon arrival.
Fire crews that arrived to the scene discovered two deceased individuals inside the structure. The victims' identities are being withheld pending positive identification by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, Pine City Fire Department, Hinckley Fire Department, Brook Park Fire Department, and Essentia Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
The state fire marshal's office and Pine County Sheriff's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
