The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the teams win over Crosby-Ironton!
The girls tennis team traveled to Crosby-Ironton for a conference battle tonight. With a win at 2nd singles and a doubles sweep, we came home with a 4-3 victory! This was a big match for us as it came down to Alana Linnell battling back to win a third set at second singles. She played strong and determined to battle back in the first set, but fell short with a score of 5-7. She used that fuel to gain momentum for a strong finish and took the second and third sets. Our doubles teams moved very well and were confident with both their position and net play. They had great chemistry and closed out in dominant second set play. All teams stepped up with their aggressive play and great serving.
We know that each match is a true team effort and we need each point to be ready to play and contribute. This will be the case as we host Foley on Tuesday, Little Falls on Wednesday, and travel to Pequot Lakes on Thursday. We will close out our conference matches next week.
