The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the teams trip to the Hibbing tournament this past Saturday!
The girls tennis team took 3rd in the Hibbing Tournament this past weekend. The girls continue to improve and it is fun to see them grow in their skills. It was a good day for the girls to try new strategies and grow as players as each position played in their own bracket and the wins at each position are calculated in team standings at the end of the tournament. The timing of this tournament is great with great competition among AA schools: Hibbing, Duluth East, Cambridge, Grand Rapids, Stillwater, and Rock Ridge. Duluth Marshall and Pine City were the only A schools in the tournament. This was good to help us as we move into the upcoming weeks of conference matches and prepare for the section tournament in October.
We will continue our conference play as we host Aitkin on Tuesday and head to Crosby-Ironton on Thursday.
