The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the teams match against North Branch!
The tennis team traveled to North Branch for today's match. We played strong, but fell short in a 3-4 battle. The girls had many opportunities, many deuce games, and improved as the match went on. I am proud of how each position finished the match as they created a strong game plan and all had stronger second sets and improved from their first. The girls continue to work hard and are willing to try different things to put our team in the most competitive position. We continue to mix up the line up and try new combinations so we can give exposure to all players on the team to different situations. With only four opportunities to practice due to heat or rain, and having played 12 matches, it has been a challenge for our team to focus on specific skills and have time to work on different combinations outside a match situation. The girls are forced to try and learn between matches and switchovers.
We wrap up our pre-season matches as we travel to Cambridge tomorrow.
We start our conference matches next Thursday when we travel to Pierz.
