The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the teams win to get them back to the State Tournament!
The tennis team captured the section 7A championship today with a 4-3 win over Foley! It was an amazing match that came down to third doubles in a third set and tie breaker. I am so proud of all of the players as they stepped up to get our four points. This team continues to battle hard each match and improve each time we step on the court. This match was a true test of grit and determination. Foley came ready to play and the Dragons were able to battle back. We had a slow start, but then our girls were determined, winning at 1 singles, 2 singles, 1st doubles, and 3rd doubles.
We will have six individuals in the individual section tournament next Monday and Tuesday. Brooke Boland and Alana Linnell will represent our team in singles and Vivian Lahti/Kate Unverzagt and Sammy Root/Lily Rootkie in doubles.
