The Pine City Council held an emergency special meeting on Wednesday night to address metal debris on city roadways.
The council voted unanimously to take immediate action to remedy the situation for the safety of Pine City residents.
The meeting took place after concerns were brought up during the Planning Commission meeting.
The roadways impacted by the debris include Cross Cut Road NE, Airport Road NE, Highway 61, County Road 11, Hillside Avenue SW, and the I-35 ramps at both Pine City exits.
The city is working with state and Pine County authorities in the cleanup effort. Contracted assistance began on Thursday morning.
