The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the teams win over Little Falls!
The girls tennis team had another close battle with a 4-3 win over Little Falls. We wrap up our conference season when we travel to Pequot Lakes tomorrow. This will be a big match to determine conference champions and also section seeding with most of our conference teams in section 7A. Pequot Lakes is currently 5-1 and we are 6-0 in the conference.
Tonight's match was a close and hard battle at all points. We know that we need to step up at each position to win conference and section matches. All points are important and we do not take any opportunities and points for granted.
Our singles players continue to play strong. Brooke (1 singles) and Alana (2 singles) dictated the points and had a strong game plan to determine the style of match play to solidify our singles wins. Alyssa (3 singles) and Alayna (4 singles) had great points and kept the ball deep. The set scores did not reflect the deuce points and close battles.
In doubles, the aggressive play contributed to the wins at 1 and 3 doubles. The girls had great serving percentages and moved well with the ball.
We are so proud of this team as they continue to improve and push towards our post season goals.
