A 75-year-old Grasston man is in critical condition after the hay wagon he was riding in was struck by a vehicle south of Henriette Monday afternoon.
According to the State Patrol, a tractor was pulling a hay bailer and a hay wagon and leaving a property on the westside Highway 107 to go north. Charles Carter of Grasston was reported to have been riding in the wagon.
When leaving the property, a Chevy Impala, driven by Zachary Otis of Brook Park, was traveling south on the highway when it struck the hay wagon. The collision ejected Carter, where he sustained a head injury.
He was transported to North Memorial Hospital via helicopter, where he was last listed in life-threatening condition.
Pine City Fire Department, Essentia Ambulance, Air Care IV, Pine County Sheriff's Office, and DNR assisted at the scene.
