A suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting in Pine County on Friday night.
According to a news release, the Pine County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting in the 57000 block of Barn Springs Road at about 8:40 p.m.
Deputies discovered a deceased male victim when they arrived at the scene.
Based on witness accounts, law enforcement identified the suspected shooter as 31-year-old Kirk Hazlett III.
He was located with assistance from the Isanti County Sheriff's Office and brought into custody.
The Pine County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are actively investigating the case.
The identity of the victim will be released once the preliminary autopsy and family notifications are complete.
