The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the town of Webster on Monday, Dec. 16.
According to a DCI news release, St. Croix Tribal Police Department officers responded to a domestic incident at a residence in the 24000 block of Eagle Feather Drive just before 6 p.m.
Arriving officers encountered a male subject with a knife. One officer discharged their firearm, striking the subject.
He was flown to a Minnesota hospital; no one else was injured during the incident.
Involved officers were wearing body cameras during the incident and are on administrative leave, per agency policy.
The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office, Burnett County District Attorney’s Office, and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are assisting the DCI with the investigation.
