An Albertville man was indicted by a grand jury on four charges related to a fatal Chisago County house fire in June.
Evenstad is charged with allegedly having set a fire, killing one and severely injuring a second victim, at a Fish Lake Township residence.
On Sept. 26, Evenstad was indicted on a first degree murder charge, two counts of second degree unintentional murder, and a first degree assault charge.
Prosecutors initially charged Evenstad with second degree murder and first degree assault in the case.
According to a press release from the Chisago County Attorney's Office, state law prohibits charging a suspect with first degree murder without a grand jury indictment.
The release states that Evenstad allegedly threw gasoline on the residents of the rural Chisago County home and intentionally lit the victims on fire, according to investigators.
One victim died of injuries suffered as a result of the incident, and a second is recovering from second and third-degree burns.
Evenstad remains at the Chisago County jail on $2 million bond. He could face a lifetime prison sentence if convicted of first-degree murder.
