A 38-year-old Minneapolis man is facing burglary charges after he allegedly broke into a neighboring apartment in Pine City on Sunday.
According to the criminal complaint, deputies were called to an apartment complex in Pine City after a juvenile reported finding a stranger sleeping in bed with her.
Upon arrival, deputies noted observed that the screens on the unit where the juvenile resides were off and the window was open. The juvenile said the window was closed before she went to bed.
The 15-year-old reported that she had been watching TV with her mom the night before and fell asleep on a mattress in the living room. She said the suspect was wearing a sweatshirt and a mask. She also noted that her bra was unhooked, and she had a crusty white stain on her pant leg.
The complaint stated that security camera footage from inside the apartment showed the suspect entering the apartment at 5:13 a.m. He is seen spending a substantial amount of time standing over or on the bed.
The suspect was also seen taking several pairs of underwear from their basket.
He was later identified as Immanuel Brown, who had allegedly flirted with the juvenile and her mother. The complaint stated that he had previously been seen looking into her bedroom window while walking his dog.
Brown reportedly stayed in a neighboring apartment with a woman he has children with. The woman allegedly lied to law enforcement when they originally asked if Brown was staying in the apartment. She later told deputies he had been at the apartment since Friday.
Brown was found hanging out of a window of the apartment he was staying at by deputies as if he was trying to leave. A search of the apartment found a black ski mask and underwear similar to what was missing from the apartment.
Brown is currently facing first-degree burglary charges.
