Lady Rebels End Regular Season With a Win

The MLWR girls hockey team wrapped up their regular season last night.

The Rebels ended their regular season on a high note. They traveled up to Duluth to play the Northern Stars. MLWR came away with the 4-3 victory. Jamie Benzie, Sandra Ribich, Gabby Gamst, and Gracie Hartl were the goal scorers for the Rebels. All but one of their goals came on the power play. The Rebels end the season one game under .500 at 12-13. After starting the season 4-8, the Rebels went 8-5 in the last half of the season. Senior Jamie Benzie lead the Rebels in scoring with 25 goals and 43 total points. MLWR has all the momentum heading into the playoffs.

In the Section 7A playoffs the Rebels look to be the #5 seed. If that holds the Rebels will play the Hibbing/Chisholm co-op in the first round.
