The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the team matches from their first Quad they hosted this season.
The girls tennis team hosted Mounds Park Academy, Litchfield, and Bemidji for a great day of tennis. We battled hard in each match and continue to improve with each opportunity to play and mix up our line ups. With six matches under our belts, it is a great chance to see players in many positions with different partners.
In our first match, the girls came out strong to earn a 6-1 win over Mounds Park Academy. Our singles players were able to dictate their game and utilize their strengths. Our doubles team had great positions and aggressive net play.
In our second match, we battled hard but fell short 1-6 to Litchfield. With many deuce points, the set scores and team score does not reflect how close this battle was. Litchfield was a strong team and it was a great opportunity for us to push ourselves and continue to improve.
We wrapped up the day with a 3-4 battle with Bemidji, but the team played well. Again, with many deuce points and tight games, we continued to improve with each match. As we work to figure out our team chemistry, the girls continue to have a positive attitude and work hard. It is going to be fun to see them grow this season!
We head to St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday to face St. Cloud and Cambridge-Isanti. Our JV team kicks off their team as they head to Roseville tomorrow.
