A 27-year-old International Falls man is facing charges following a morning car chase in southern Pine County.
According to the State Patrol, around 7:30 Tuesday morning, troopers responded to a report of a Chevrolet Impala not staying within the lane and crossing lane lines on southbound I-35. Troopers attempted to make a stop around mile marker 180 when the driver fled.
Law enforcement then deployed stop-sticks on I-35 in an effort to stop the fleeing driver, and the driver exited at milepost 169 as the tires were deflating on the vehicle. The suspect vehicle continued west on Pokegama Lake Road where troopers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle on Canalville Lane.
The suspect reportedly resisted arrest and a taser was used to bring him into custody with the help of Pine County Sheriff's Deputies.
He was transported to Welia Hospital in Mora for further evaluation.
He was booked into the Pine County Jail to be charged with fleeing police in a motor vehicle, 1st Degree DWI, possession of a controlled substance, and driving without a valid license.
