I-35 pavement work underway between Willow River, Sturgeon Lake

MnDOT started an I-35 pavement preservation project between Willow River and Sturgeon Lake on Monday.

The project will extend through Friday. Motorists can expect daytime lane closures in work zones on both northbound and southbound I-35.

According to MnDOT, the work is a microsurfacing project designed to extend the life of bituminous pavement.

Temporary striping is in place while work occurs, and permanent striping will be installed in approximately three weeks.
