An 18-year-old Hinckley man charged with murder in a 2023 shooting at a Minneapolis backyard concert venue will be prosecuted as an adult.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, Dominic Burris was 17 at the time of the shooting.
Burris is charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, and five counts of second-degree assault.
He made his first appearance in adult court on Wednesday. His bail was set at $1 million.
One person was killed and at least seven others were injured in the August 2023 shooting at a concert held at a private residence.
The criminal complaint alleges that witnesses reported overhearing insensitive and hostile comments about the sexual orientation of concert attendees from the two suspects.
Burris has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He’ll make his next court appearance on Nov. 26.
