A head-on collision near Taylors Falls resulted in two deaths on Monday afternoon.
According to the state patrol crash report, a Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Highway 8 in Shafer Township, near Milltown Road, just before 12:40 p.m.
The vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Mazda CX-5 head on.
The driver of the Civic, identified as 59-year-old Amery, Wisconsin, resident Thomas Collins, died as a result of the crash.
A passenger in the Mazda, 61-year-old Minneapolis woman Kimberly Brown, also died in the crash.
The Mazda driver was identified as 55-year-old Minneapolis resident Kim McCoy, who is being treated at Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.
