The Grantsburg Police Department shut down a drug lab in the former Red Stag Saloon building on Friday.
According to a news release, the department was notified about drug lab operations at 101 West Madison Avenue, which had recently seen its occupant get evicted.
The Grantsburg police executed a search warrant with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
The lab was determined to be used to manufacture the controlled substance commonly known as DMT.
Firearms and drug paraphernalia were also located during the warrant execution.
Law enforcement made contact with Laura Chamberlain, who had been evicted from the building.Â
She was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, and remains in the Burnett County Jail on charges of manufacture of controlled substances, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and multiple other charges.
The Burnett County Sheriff's Office, Siren Police Department, Grantsburg Fire Department, Superior Fire Department hazmat team, Grantsburg Public Works, North Memorial Ambulance, and Burnett County Health and Human Services also assisted with the case.
