Those looking to apply to run for non-primaried elections this fall can begin filing for candidacy in a few weeks.
Locally, there are two Pine City Council seats and the mayoral seat up for election, and the Pine City School Board has three members up for election this year.
Filing fees to run as a candidate for these positions are $2.
Affidavits for candidacy forms can be picked up at the Pine City Clerks Office or the Pine City School District Office.
To run, candidates must be an eligible voter in Minnesota, 21 years of age or more when assuming office, and must have been a resident of the district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the general election.
Filing begins on August 2 at 8 a.m. and runs until Tuesday, August 16 at 5 p.m.
