Federal budget bills for the 2025 fiscal year that passed in the Senate and House Appropriations Committees include money for two Pine County projects.
According to a press release from U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, the successfully secured funding includes $750,000 for Pine City’s wastewater treatment pond system upgrade project.
Representative Pete Stauber also requested funding for that project.
$850,000 was also secured for the Sandstone school workforce housing project to develop 31 units of workforce housing.
Those projects are expected to pass the Senate over the next several months.
