Essentia Health reaches tentative three-year agreement with Sandstone nurses

wcmpnews

Essentia Health and the Minnesota Nurses Association have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract covering 28 nurses at the Sandstone facility.

In late January, the nurses represented by the MNA voted to authorize an unfair labor practices strike if contract talks continued to stall.

According to an Essentia Health news release, the proposed contract features voluntary cross-facility floating, which gives nurses the choice to pick up a shift at other Essentia locations.

The provision also allows nurses at other Essentia facilities to fill shifts in Sandstone.

According to Essentia, the agreement also includes wage increases for each year of the contract, with a market adjustment in the first year and 3.5% increases in the second and third years of the deal.

A vote on the contract is expected to take place on March 7.
