The East Central girls basketball team faced off against Hinckley-Finlayson tonight.
Both the Eagles and Jaguars were evenly matched throughout the 1st half of play. The 1st half was low scoring but it still had its fair share of excitement. Both teams hit on a couple of threes early, and never slowed the pace. Through a back and forth 1st half, the Eagles went into halftime with a 17-15 lead. Coming out of half all momentum was on East Central’s side. The quickly built on their lead. Hinckley-Finlayson never gave up as late in the game they mounted a comeback. But the Eagles quickly were able to stop the comeback and hold on for the victory 46-34 over the Jaguars.
With the win the Eagles move to 5-1 on the season. They will in Wrenshall on Thursday night for their next game. Tip off set for 7pm. The Jaguars fall to 1-5 on the season. They will host Mora(1-4) on Friday night. The Jaguars will start that game at 715pm.
