Pine City hosted Braham Thursday night.
Both teams suffered set backs on Tuesday night and looked to turn things around.
Pine City controlled the first half of the opening set but soon Braham was able to close the gap and stay within a few points of the lead. The Dragons had a 23-20 lead when the Bombers called a timeout. This timeout proved to be helpful as Braham scored 5 straight points to steal the first set 25-23. They would go on a 6-1 run to open the 2nd set and it looked like they'd run away easily with the set. But momentum switched back to the Dragons and they were able to once again take a lead. This set swayed back and forth till again Pine City held a 23-20 lead, and Braham again took a timeout. But this time the Dragons were able to close out the set 25-20. The third set was a battle early on, then Pine City pulled away only for Braham to come back within one of the lead. The Dragons were able to grab the set win 25-21 and lead 2-1.
The third set saw the Bombers hold the lead for nearly the entirety of the set, the game looked primed to be pushed to set 5. But Pine City was able to find some late set magic and completed the comeback taking set 4 25-20 and the match 3-1.
Pine City moved to 3-1 in the Great River Conference and will take on the Jaguars at Hinckley-Finlayson next Tuesday.
The Bombers drop their third conference game in a row and will wait a week to host East Central next Thursday and look to get back on track.
