Here's an update from Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt on the Dragons first win!
We had a great start to our season with a 2-1 record and earning 1st place in the tournament.
We played St. Peter in the first round and had five out of seven points go to a third set tie breaker. It was a close match with a 3-4 loss overall but the girls continued to improve with each match throughout the day. It is always hard to come off a long bus ride and hit the court immediately with limited warm up time.
I am so proud of the team's efforts as they continued to battle throughout the day earning a 5-2 win over Blue Earth Area and 5-2 win over St. James.
With the quad format, we are able to switch up our lineups for each match so it is a great opportunity to try different combinations as we begin our season. We had girls playing both singles and doubles and this speaks to the strength and potential of this team to be so flexible. The girls had a great attitude and took advantage of the day to learn more about what we need to work on this season. I am so proud of them for their hard work. They are a great group to work with and all have a common goal. We will continue to build on this momentum as we host Litchfield, Bemidji, and Mounds Park Academy on Monday.
