DNR reminds anglers about March deadlines for removing fish houses

wcmpnews

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding residents about impending deadlines to remove fish houses from the ice.

According to the DNR, the shelter removal deadline for the southern two-thirds of the state is March 3rd.

Fish houses in the northern third of the state must be removed by March 18.

Owners of shelters that are not removed prior to the deadline may be prosecuted, and structures may be confiscated and removed or destroyed by a conservation officer.

Anglers are also reminded to check ice thickness conditions before venturing out, due to warmer temperatures.
