From the Pine County Sheriff's Office:
On December 15, 2020, David Daryl Pangerl, age 42, of Braham, MN was
charged in Pine County District Court with second-degree homicide in regards
to the death of Scott Ness.
Ness was found deceased in a camper trailer in Royalton Township of Pine
County on March 2, 2020. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the
death a homicide. Investigators from the Pine County Sheriff’s Office,
Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the East Central Drug and Violent
Offender Task Force have spent the last nine months following up on
numerous tips in regards to this case.
Pangerl was arrested on December 11, 2020, in Kanabec County in regards to
an incident in Pine County and booked on charges of robbery, burglary and
assault at that time.
Pangerl had bail set at two million dollars today for the homicide case and he
remains in the Pine County jail.
The East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of
officers from Pine, Isanti, Kanabec, and Chisago Counties.
