Bombers Fall to West Lutheran, Finish as Runners up in Section 4A

The Bombers softball team had the opportunity to play at the University of Northwestern St. Paul on Thursday as part of the section championship game.

Braham would play a somewhat familiar opponent in West Lutheran, a team who they hosted and lost to late in the regular season. The Bombers came into the game on a hot streak. After losing to PACT Charter they had to battle their way back through the elimination bracket and did so, even getting revenge on PACT to get back to the championship game.

West Lutheran came into the game with one of the better pitchers in all of Class A softball, and it showed early. Braham trailed 2-0 early in the game but in the third inning the bats started to come to life. They were able to score their first run of the game to cut the lead in half, sadly the Warriors scored two runs of their own in that inning a extended their lead 4-1. Braham cut the lead in half once again in the 4th and their defense along with pitching looked like it may have found a rhythm. But in the bottom of the 5th inning West Lutheran capitalized on a few Bomber mistakes and scored 4 runs to push their lead to 8-2. The Bombers could've easily hung their heads and let the game go, but they quickly turned their attention to getting back into the game. In the 6th inning they got hot at the plate, brining in two runs to cut the lead down to 8-4, they even held the Warriors off the board. They needed 4 runs to extend the game in the 7th. But the pitching of West Lutheran held the Bombers off the board and ended the game.

The Bombers finish the season as Section 4A runners up!

Congrats to Braham on a phenomenal season!
