An arrest warrant has been issued for a Pine County woman who authorities identified as the driver in a December 21st school bus stop-arm violation.
28-year-old Willow River resident Brianna Johnson has been charged with failing to stop for a school bus and reckless driving.
According to the criminal complaint, Pine County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to County Road 41 in Willow River after a red Ford Ranger nearly struck two children exiting a school bus.
Surveillance video showed the truck swerving around a van that had stopped, driving onto the shoulder before passing the bus.
The complaint states that the van driver attempted to follow the truck, but did not continue at a dangerous rate of speed.
It was later determined that the Ranger’s registration had expired and that the vehicle’s registered owner was deceased.
The suspected truck was found parked at a Willow River residence, whose owners did not recognize the vehicle.
The Ranger was linked to a man who was asked to fix Johnson’s vehicle. Johnson borrowed his Ford Ranger to go to Dollar General, and failed to return.
Investigators say a recent booking photo of Johnson is consistent with witness descriptions.
