Pine City, Rush City, Hinckley-Finlayson, Braham, and Mora competed in the section 5A cross country championship hosted by Mora yesterday.
In the boys 5K Mora senior Cooper Lennox placed 3rd and qualified for state. Pine City senior Nate Webster placed 22nd, Rush City senior Brodrick Larson placed 23rd, Hinckley-Finlayson senior Brock Bjerke placed 27th, and Braham junior Kevin Laman finished 122nd.

10th: Pine City
12th: Rush City
16th: Hinckley-Finlayson
22nd: Braham
In the girls 5K Pine City senior Alaina Steele placed 4th and qualifies to compete at the state meet. Pine City 8th grader Eva Johnson also qualified to run at the state meet as she placed 9th. Hinckley-Finlayson 8th grader Reese Hartl finished 11th she qualifies to compete at the state meet. She also ran her personal best time 20:06. Rush City 7th grader Ashland Paul finished 43rd, Mora senior Lily Peterson finished 47th, and Braham senior Leah Wickeham placed 80th.

The state tournament will be next Saturday at St. Olaf college starting at 1pm.
