Two horses are safe after they needed to be yanked from a swamp in Isanti County on Wednesday.
Crews were dispatched by the Isanti County Sheriff's Office to the Wayside Prairie Park in Bradford Township around 6:00 p.m. In a statement posted online, the rural location caused responders to use wide straps and "some good old fashioned muscle" to get the horses unstuck.
Pictures from the scene taken by the Isanti Fire Department show the animals buried up to their necks in mud and water.
Thankfully, the animals were uninjured, albeit exhausted, by the incident and were able to walk on solid ground once they were unstuck.
