The Pine City Dragon tennis team got off to a perfect start to the season with three wins on Friday in Park Rapids. The Dragons defeated Park Rapids 6-1, Roseau 6-1, and Moorehead 5-2.
Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt said, "The girls brought home the south trophy after the great day of play. We had a lot of close matches with many tie breakers, but the players were focused and worked hard. It was a good day to try new combinations and put the girls in new positions through the line up. The players had a positive attitude and worked hard, no matter the position they played. This was a great first day of matches and it helped us prepare for Monday's power tournament where we will have some great teams."
Pine City will host a tournament on Monday.
