The Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars will play two home football games at East Central this year due to the football field not yet being ready.
From head coach Brad Hopkins:
The football field was re-crowned this past summer. What this does is allow proper drainage from the field in wet conditions. The grass unfortunately has not taken as hoped. With the field in rough shape and some of the sizable construction that took place this spring/summer on the track and grounds, the football schedule/sites have had to be altered.
The following changes have been made:
Varsity football -
August 29th vs Crosby-Ironton moved to East Central school.
September 6th vs East Central moved to East Central school.
Parents night will remain Friday, September 6th at East Central.
Varsity practices will take place at west side softball fields beginning August 12th until further notice.
JV football-
NO HOME GAMES this season to try to preserve field.
Junior High football -
NO HOME GAMES this season to try to preserve field.
Youth Football -
August 24th games will be held at west side softball fields.
Youth football night will remain Friday, September 6th and we will play at halftime of that game.
We are making every effort to try to get the field ready for a true home game this season yet. September 20th and October 4th (homecoming) would be the remaining home dates hopefully. We are sorry for the inconvenience this season, we are trying to keep our field as healthy as possible for future years.
