Pine City 15-7
QRF Ranking: 67th in State 7th in Section 7AA
The Dragons end up with the 7th seed in a very tough section. Pine City will travel to Duluth Denfeld for the first playoff game. The Hunters are 20-6 on the season. The first playoff game is on 10/24 at 7:00 pm.
Braham 8-18
QRF Ranking: 120th in State 3rd in Section 5A
The Bombers are in a good spot ranked #3 in the section. They get to host #6 seeded Isle. They swept Isle in both matches this year. The Bombers will likely play #2 seed Pact Charter school in a very winnable second round match. Playoffs start Thursday at 7:00.
Rush City 16-7
QRF Ranking: 47th in State 1st in Section 5A
The Tigers end up with the #1 seed in the North Half of Section 5A. The Tigers came up short of the State Tournament last year losing in a very close match to Pine River-Backus and they hope to get past them this year to make it to the state tournament. Their first round match is at home against Kaleidoscope Charter School who is 3-16 this year. That match will take place at Rush City high school on 10/25 at 7:00 pm.
Hinckley-Finlayson 6-16
QRF Ranking: 157th in State 6th in Section 5A
The Jaguars have the #5 seed in the section and will travel to Ogilvie to take on the #4 seeded Lions. Hinckley-Finlayson lost to Ogilivie in 5 sets in their only match of the season. The first round is 10/25 at 7:00pm.
East Central 2-19
QRF Ranking: 182nd in State 7th in Section 5A
The Eagles are the #7 seed and get to travel to PACT Charter school to take on the #2 seed. The match is at 7:00 on 10/25.
Mora 7-19
QRF Ranking: 99th in State 8th in Section 7AA
The Mora Mustangs get the unfortunate task of going up against the #1 Seed North Branch Vikings. The Vikings went to State last year and will be a heavy favorite to do so again this year. The Mustangs first playoff game is 10/24 at 7:00 pm in North Branch.
North Branch 22-4
QRF Ranking: 3rd in State 1st in Section 7AA
The Vikings have been absolutely dominant for another year and will be the heavy favorite in the section to go back to the State tournament. The Vikings will host Mora in the first round on 10/24 at 7:00.
Cambridge-Isanti 3-21
QRF Ranking: 81st in State 10th in Section 7AAA
The Bluejackets have the #10 seed in the section and travel to Princeton on 10/24 at 7:00 in the first round.
