Four Dragons Get First Varsity Points in Win Over Moose Lake

The Pine City Area Dragons picked up their seventh win a row at home last night in a lopsided 12-2 win over Moose Lake. Pine City came out firing on all cylinders scoring six goals right away in the first period. The Dragons were able to utilize all twenty players on the roster skating four forward lines and three defensive lines. This game allowed Pine City to get some much needed varsity experience for several players. Joey Mikyska scored two goals for the Dragons, his first as a varsity player. Howie Hodena and Dereck Trieweiler assisted on four Dragon goals last night giving them their first varsity points. Even sophomore goalie, Alex Laven, was credited with an assist last night, his first varsity point as well.

The Dragons improve to 13-5 on the season and are now just one conference win away from their third straight conference championship. They are off til Friday and will play on the road against North Shore.
