A Siren School District referendum seeking $1.4 million for a facility improvement project passed during Tuesday’s general election.
Voters supported the ballot initiative, with 1,221 district residents voting yes, and 621 voting no.
Part of the district’s heating and ventilation system is failing, and the district says repairs are expensive. The funding will replace the boiler system.
Funds will also go toward replacing the damaged and outdated roof over the high school and district office.
